May the force be with you

I had a slightly strange experience last night. Kathy, Jenn and I were walking down Spring Garden Road on our way to dinner at Il Mercato, sharing stories about dreams. Kathy started with some disturbing dreams she'd been having lately, the last one including an ex-boyfriend in a beret. As we walked past a guy stopped in front of one of the restuarants on Spring Garden, I said, "I've been having dreams about being desperately in love with someone who's not in love with me.

The guy overheard, and replied with, "I love you."

I said thank you and smiled - it was a nice thought. He called back to me, "Come here".

I stopped, and he started coming toward me. "I'm not going to let you touch me." I said.

"I'm not going to hug you or anything."

He came up to me and put his hand on top of my head, and closed his eye for a minute, then let go and left. Despite his bizarre behavior, I appreciated the gesture.

Unless he was trying to send me psychic vibes about how much christ loves me.

Spinster.com

I was feeling particularly accepting of my current lot in life, up late to watch reruns of Sex and the City wrapped in an afghan while simultaneously surfing the net (I'm not making any of this up), so I decided to type in "spinster.com" to see what I got. It turned out that it was a domain name that some company had registered, and was "placeholding" with one of those generic search engines that guesses what you might want, based on your invalid entry.

My favorites were exercise equipment, weight loss, tax returns, hair replacement, and cruises.
